Salt reduction
Reducing salt without compromising taste.
We have an ongoing salt reduction programme across our portfolio of food products and we are working with the industry and the Food Standards Agency to reduce salt levels in line with the targets set by the FSA (population average consumption target of 6g per day).
To date, Mars Food UK has achieved a salt reduction of up to 35% across our DOLMIO, UNCLE BEN’S and SEEDS OF CHANGE sauces, while ensuring no compromise on taste. This is part of an ongoing commitment to our consumers, and continuous improvement programmes are in place to overcome remaining technological challenges.
