Snacks and confectionery are intended to be eaten in between meals and to provide an energy boost when required.

We encourage people to see snacks in the context of their overall diet, and certainly not as a replacement for meals. That’s why we were one of the first manufacturers to sign up to the Be Treatwise initiative.

It’s also why we encourage people to live active lifestyles. Does this mean pumping iron, or training to Olympic standards? It can do, if that’s your thing – but it needn’t. Even a walk in the country, or taking the dog out for exercise is good for you. Why not go on one of the UK’s top ten dog walks? You can even benefit physically from gardening, ironing or cleaning the house.

Sport England suggests you should aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise or physical activity for five days each week. The Food and Drink Federation says that even taking the stairs and doing a few gentle stretches can be also beneficial.
